LaLaport Izumi & Costco Izumi: Access, Membership & Shopping

Shopping in Osaka does not have to mean staying in the city centre. LaLaport Izumi (ららぽーと和泉) and Costco Izumi Warehouse are next to each other in Izumi City, Osaka Prefecture. They can be visited on the same day if you are interested in clothing, household goods or warehouse shopping.

The two places work quite differently. You do not need a Costco membership to visit LaLaport. Costco is more useful for existing members looking for food and everyday supplies. Check transport, payment methods and how much you plan to carry before deciding whether to visit both.

You can visit LaLaport on its own without a Costco membership. Before travelling specifically from central Osaka, check which stores you want to visit and allow for the return journey.

Can you use a Costco membership issued in Taiwan in Japan?

Yes. Costco Taiwan states that its memberships are valid worldwide, and Costco Japan also lists access to warehouses around the world as a membership benefit. Make sure your membership is current and bring your membership card and identification for verification.

Your membership card and payment card serve different purposes. Costco Japan accepts Mastercard credit cards. A Costco-branded credit card issued in Taiwan is not automatically suitable for payment in Japan just because it carries the Costco name. Check the card network and whether overseas transactions are enabled.

If you do not have a suitable payment card, check other payment methods available at the warehouse before your visit, rather than discovering the problem at checkout.

Getting there: buses and parking

Nankai buses serve LaLaport Izumi. The main routes published by the shopping centre are listed below. Journey times exclude waiting, transfers and walking.

The published timetable changed on March 28, 2026. Check outward and return services on the LaLaport transport page on the day of your visit. LaLaport and Costco are beside each other, so you can choose the order that suits your purchases.

If transport by vehicle is already arranged, LaLaport Izumi has around 3,400 parking spaces, listed as free all day. See the parking information for entrances, vehicle restrictions and current conditions. These are LaLaport's parking details; Costco's parking rules may differ.

Planning a same-day visit around your purchases

Your situationSuggested planFor the return journey

Using public transport and buying a small amountVisit LaLaport and have a meal, then shop at Costco lastLimit the number and weight of bags; allow time for transfers
Transport already arranged; planning larger purchasesVisit general stores first and buy bulk or fresh items lastAllow enough storage space and bring suitable insulated bags

If you are continuing to the airport that day, leave enough time for travel, reorganising luggage and check-in. Consider how fresh and frozen food will be kept safe; a low price alone is not a reason to buy more than you can manage.
